Thank You!

First of all, thank you for booking Kittiwake One as your holiday apartment. As the owners of the property we appreciate how many options would have been available to you, and are grateful that you chose our little place above Woolacombe.

We’ve designed the welcome pack to go beyond the basics. Of course we’ve included the functional information you need, like how to use the DVD player, but you’ll also find all sorts of useful information on the local area. To get you started, below are the driving directions you need to get to Kittiwake One. After that, have a read of the Kittiwake One Welcome Pack.

You'll also find a printed copy of the pack in the flat, so don't worry about taking your own paper-based copy.

Sat Nav Users

  • Enter EX34 7AH, which will take you to Woolacombe Bay Holiday Park.
  • Once inside the park, drive down towards the reception building and bear right past the Romano Spa building towards Seymour villas. Kittiwake One will be found on the right hand side. Park in the space next to the steps on the right (as you face the building).
  • This Google Map outlines the last 3 miles of the journey.

From the M5 Junction 27

  • Leave the M5 at junction 27 and take the A361 towards Barnstaple.
  • After 25 miles you’ll see signs for the A399 (Woolacombe).
    • AVOID this route unless you fancy a narrow and windy country drive. We’ve found that it can make passengers travel sick and it’s not very quick anyway!
  • Continue towards Barnstaple on the A361. After around 20 miles you will reach a roundabout where you can go left towards Bideford, Bude and Ilfracombe. Follow this route.
  • Go over the first roundabout.
  • At the second, signposted Ilfracombe, turn right.
  • Keep going until you reach a large roundabout with distinctive stone sculptures on it. Go straight over this roundabout and over the Taw Bridge.
    • You will find a Tesco Superstore just off this roundabout if you wish to pick up groceries for your stay. Just follow the signs to Barnstaple Railway Station.
  • At the other side of the bridge you will reach a T-Junction. Go left, signposted Ilfracombe and A361.
  • Go over 2 roundabouts and straight through the crossroads in Braunton.
  • After about 10 miles, you will reach a large roundabout with a pub on it called ‘Cook Island’ Turn left at this roundabout, signposted ‘Lee’ and Woolacombe (B3343).
  • After nearly 2 miles, turn right towards ‘Morthoe’.
    • The sign for Morthoe is small but sits with a brown tourist information sign for ‘Warcombe Farm’, ‘Woolacombe Bay’, ‘Damage Barton’, and a few more campsites. This junction also sits about 20 yards before a pub called the Fortescue Arms (which has a particularly tasty recipe for barbecue ribs if that’s your thing!)
  • Follow this road, called Morthoe Station Road, for a little over a mile.
  • Turn left into ‘Woolacombe Bay Holiday Village’. Follow this road and enter the holiday park.
  • Once inside the park, drive down towards the reception building and bear right past the Romano Spa building towards Seymour villas. Kittiwake One will be found on the right hand side. Park in the space next to the steps on the right (as you face the building).
