What’s changing then?
Three key things:
Some stuff will not be available.
We’re amping up the cleaning protocol.
Check-in and check-out timings are changing.
What ‘stuff’ will not be available?
In order to decrease the risk of COVID transmission, we’ve removed all non-essential high-touch items. This includes books, games, DVDs, maps, guides, information folders, scatter cushions, throws etc.
Cushions?! How will I get comfortable?
Don’t worry, we’ve left some there for comfort. We’ve just removed the decorative ones.
Okay. And what about this new cleaning protocol?
Under normal circumstances our cleaners do an excellent job of cleaning the flat. They’re often commended for this in reviews that we get on AirBnB.
Going forward there are lots of detailed changes and rules but they can be summed up with one word: Sanitisation. The cleaner will sanitise all touch surfaces such as light switches, controls, door handles, work tops and the like.
You mean they didn’t sanitise anything before?
Of course they did, in all the places you would expect! But no cleaning company would have previously sanitised door handles and light switches for example.
Great. And what’s happening to the Check-in/Check-out times?
Check-in is moving from 4pm to 6pm. Check-out used to be a 10am. It’s now 9am. This gives the proper amount of time for the cleaners to be able to get in, prepare, clean, sanitise, check and reset everything. It then adds extra time for you to arrive well after they have left.
